Shooting a Film in Imax /Omnimax
More than 200 cinemas around the World are equipped to show films in 15 perforation 70 mm format (both flat and dome screens). Following CinemaScope, Vistavision, 70 mm and Cinerama - which involve the use of several projectors on one screen - a single-projector mechanism was invented by the Australian, Ron Jones. This led to the invention of two processes:-The Imax system: where the film is projected onto a huge, slightly curved screen,- The Omnimax system: where the film is projected onto a dome screen that exceeds the spectator's field of vision. The Omnimax process was designed for use with dome screens, and uses the mechanism and lamps from the Imax but is also equipped with a "fish-eye" lens.
